STUDIO TERMS YOU AGREE TO UPON RENTING
By renting the studio I agree to accept all liability from my actions and my guests actions in the studio. This agreement releases Elements Collective / Whonsetler Photography / all studio partners / building owner and all representatives (referred to as Managing Parties from this point forward) from all liability relating to injuries and/or damages that may occur while working on location at Elements Collective studio space. By agreeing to this document, I agree to hold all Managing Parties entirely free from any liability, including financial responsibility for injuries (mental, and physical) and/or damages incurred while on the property. This includes myself, guests I bring, and any items myself or my guests bring to Elements Collective studio space. I understand that I am also financially responsible for any property (including my property, and Managing Parties property) that is damaged while I am using Elements Collective studio space caused both by myself and my guests. This includes but is not limited to, the building, photography gear & furniture belonging to members of Elements Collective and the property my guests and I bring into Elements Collective studio space.
I also acknowledge and understand the risks involved in using studio lighting equipment in Elements Collective studio space. I acknowledge and confirm that I know how to properly use the equipment at the studio and/or the equipment I bring to the studio, each person I bring to the building are participating voluntarily, and that all risks and liabilities have been made clear to all. Additionally, both myself and my guests do not have any conditions that will increase my likelihood of experiencing injuries while engaging in this activity (high sensitivity to strobe lights, etc).
STUDIO FAQs & RULES
What is the cost to rent THE studio?
Pricing is $75 per hour and includes access to one profoto D1, additional gear, bts photo & video and ASSISTING can be added as necessary. Please book enough time to get setup before your client arrives and enough time to clean up after your project is done. Access before and after your booked time is not permitted as other renters may be coming into the space after you.
WHO IS LIABLE SHOULD AN ACCIDENT TAKE PLACE?
YOU ARE LIABLE FOR EVERYTHING YOU BRING TO THE STUDIO (PEOPLE, ANIMALS AND GEAR) AND THE STUDIO GEAR YOU DECIDE TO USE. YOU ARE ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF THE PEOPLE AND ANIMALS YOU BRING TO THE BUILDING. PLEASE MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS RESPECTFUL AND NOT A MENACE TO OUR NEIGHBORS. WE MAKE IT A VERY HIGH PRIORITY TO ENSURE ALL GEAR IS IN GREAT OPERABLE CONDITION AND MEETS ALL OF OUR WORKING STANDARDS, SO IF USED PROPERLY THERE IS LITTLE TO NO RISK OF INJURY. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR INSURANCE WILL COVER A RENTAL REPLACEMENT AND ANY INJURY THAT MAY OCCUR.
I ACCIDENTALLY broke something.. now what?
we have a you break it you buy it policy in place. Please only use the gear if you are comfortable and careful with it. We have videos on how to use the profoto lights and c stands, please refer to those and call if you have a question or concern before an accident happens.
CAN I GET ACCESS BEFORE MY RENTAL TO SETUP?
NO, ALL SETUP AND CLEAN UP TIME IS INCLUDED WITH YOUR HOURLY RENTAL. THERE MAY BE ANOTHER RENTER PLANNING TO USE THE SPACE RIGHT AFTER YOU, SO ACCESS BEFORE MIGHT NOT EVEN BE POSSIBLE. EXTENDING A RENTAL BEYOND YOUR ORIGINAL REQUEST MAY OR MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE. CALL OR TEXT IF MORE TIME IS NEEDED
WHAT IS BANNED FROM USE AT THE STUDIO?
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING IN THE STUDIO, and no vulgar & overly loud activity. Please respect our neighbors and surrounding businesses. THIS INCLUDES VAPING. GLITTER IS ALSO NOT ALLOWED due to the extreme difficulty cleaning up. Confetti is only allowed if you run the shop vac and get it all cleaned up.
CAN I BRING pets?
ABSOLUTELY! the complex is very pet friendly. please be sure to keep them under control and are cleaned up after. There may be someone coming in after your rental so if there is an accident it needs cleaned IMMEDIATELY and disposed of in the restrooms across the hall.
Is the space sound proof?
no it is not. There is a busy road right outside and we pick up the occasional loud vehicle exhaust, honks and the random emergency vehicle siren. The space is also mostly concrete so echo can be bad at times if sound blankets are not used. Lastly there is the air conditioner which can be turned off, but summer temps can get hot fast with these old building windows.
can I bring my own lights and backdrops?
100% yes! please use what you are most familiar with. LEARNING a new light in front of a client is not a great idea. If you do bring your own backdrop please bring a portable stand to use it with. Swapping the paper on the tiered system is a process that is staff only. renters have tried to change them in the past and have broken parts and gotten hurt. Please do not change the papers.
